catblog:)

Hasnt been too much of this activity lately. Or climbing, which I was just finished with when this photo was taken. (Thats the reason the bike is missing a tire, im too lazy to bike home and therefore decided to stuff it into Cissis car....) Instead im an expert on walking with crutches, and have fallen in love with these supercute dudes and dudette! Taggen, or Yatzi which is his new name! My favourite from day1! We have shared many evenings on the couch at Amanda and Bjørnars place. Busken and Tigergutt. The stripy one now has a new home in Øystese and the fluffy cute on got a long carride to Kaupanger with me and Marthe yesterday. The poor thing has always been the most insecure of the lot and thought it was superscary to be taken away from its mum and placed in a car with lots of noises, movement and flashing lights. Luckily it settled down more and more on my lap, but I had to constantly cuddle it all the way! And keep it from running around the car a couple of times.. Would have been scary if it got stuck under the brakes!!!! Other than that Ive done some shopping!!!!!! Brand new Telemarkboots - 2500nok! Cant wait to go skiing. The snow is here! Too bad its two months until Im allowed on skis. (And apparantly even longer till I can try telemark..) We`ll see about that!

Studyweek!

Wow.. blog.. Yep, not been happening lately. And the reason cant be that nothing has happened, because it really has! Ive been in school for three months now and Sogndal is a cool place to live. School is filled with lots of sports-activities, but one of them was football. Im not a big fan of football, but I had to survive 20hours of it! Last day of our fotball-course was a tournament. We bought pink teamshirts and started playing. Lost every match in the first half of the day, but it was fun anyways. Then the drama started. I injured my knee! I knew immediatly that something was really wrong in there because it hurt like hell and it had felt like my bones had touched when i stopped. After a stop at the doctor and driving to Lærdal hospital I met a nice finnish surgeant who could think of nothing better than an operation on my knee on a friday afternoon! So instead of going to Bergen on saturday I got a free night at the hospital and a knee I cant walk properly on for at least a month. The diagnosis? Torn meniscus.. Its stitched together so fingers crossed for skiing this winter!

To top it off, the week after we got kicked out of our house by the worst landlord in Sogndal. Not kicked out on the street, but we had to start looking for a new home! We felt badly treated by this, after all we have done nothing wrong, it was him that hadnt done the stuff he promised to do when we moved in. So we contacted the local newspaper, got our faces in there, and then the sweetest lady called us. She had read the newspaper and was upset by how someone could treat students that way. She told us she had a house that would be available soon if we were interested! YAY! So my nickname these days is Skippy. Im really hating not being allowed to participate in sports and other fun stuff, and just going downstairs to use the toilet is a mission!

Yesterday I went to Lagunen for some shopping with Marthe, Evelyn and Silje. Managed to give my creditcard a light burn, but nothing that cant by fixed by eating cheap next week. Maybe I should consider opening my books soon - exam in two weeks!

still alive=)

Not much blogging happening from my side, but thats just because there is so much stuff happening right now. School is great! First year of a outdoors bachelor.. We are getting an introduction to many sports and learning how to teach them to kids. The way we learn that is to be the "kids" for our teacher. So alot of physical schoolwork;)

Sogndal is a cool place to live in - outdoor climbing, huge indoor wall, great mountains for hiking, and of course skiing when the snow hits us. My classmates are all really cool to hang out with, and they like being outdoors alot! Funfunfun.

Whenever we havnt got our noses stuck in the books or are out climbing some random mountain - its cooking time! Made breakfastrolls with chili, cheese and carrots + some delicious fudge brownies. yumyum

Living in Sogndal

We are really bad seeds and lighting candles. Our landlord have given us a ban agains candles inside. But outside should be ok, yes? Since we all are craving moodsetting aka live candles we had to find a substitute: Worked out pretty well. Gonna buy batteries instead of candles this year... Other than that life in Sogndal is ok. School is starting to be more like school tomorrow. Got a doubleclass of athletics plus planning of our outdoors trips next week. Hoping to get this blogthing up and running again now. But first Ive got a request and wish. These are my bedroomwalls: Kind of sad? Yes! Got photos of me and you? Maybe just you or a sweet spot you or I have been? The adress is:

Nina Høyland

Kvåle

6856 Sogndal

And that also works if you wanna send something to Cissi or Marthe ;)

When I get home sleep is often my first priority, but Ive got some more photos from Whistler and I will try to put them on the blog really soon. Just need to go to Bergen on a guns'n'roses concert first ;)

Wow

May is here! January, february, march and april have flown away and soon Ill be back in Voss and this whole thing will be a distant memory. Photos left on my computer and souvenirs stacked up on a shelf. Ive done so much, seen so much and had SO much fun! Ive seen how some of my friends live at home, and Ive been lucky enough to stay with them in their homes.

Ive met fellow travellers. Sweet ones, weird ones and straight out scary ones. Ive made alot of pasta, noodles, tuna, couscous and eaten LOTS of oranges. Cant explain why, but oranges has definetly been one of my favourite fruits the past months!

Ive seen a shark in Australia, penguins in New Zealand, bear in Canada and Goofy in Disneyland. Ive woken up to snoring, packing of bags, unpacking of bags, more snoring, alarms going off, swedes doing it, plastic bags carefully being packed into a bag and some snoring. Ive had soft beds, hard beds, humid beds, beds with spiders, hot beds and cold ones too!

Ive driven 4551km in my very first car. On the wrong side of the road. Ive spent almost 50 hours inside airplanes. Windowseat, aisleseat and the dreaded one in the middle. Some flightattendants have been cherfull and happy whilst others have been grumpy. Ive been through so many securitychecks ive stopped counting. The United Stated of America apparantly have a horrible looking photo of me. Plus all of my fingerprints. Both hands!

Ive loved it! And Ill probably want to do it again. But now Im quite ready to get back to Voss with work and just hanging out with people who know me. Just need to do some days worth of skiing first! Ciao

Whistler

I went up to Whistler to go skiing and was suprised to see all these dogs in town. Wow, does every person in Canada own a dog? After walking further along the village I found an area with foodstands. "Sweet, free or cheap food". But I was quickly dissapointed. Seems like springsundays in Whistler are reserved for dogs! The stands were all full of dogfood, snacks and touys! They even had a competition for dogs and their owners called "the Canine Musical Freestyle". Basically it was ladies older than 30 (40?) putting on stupid costumes and music, trying to make their dogs to stuff that could look like dancing. Getting your dog to walk inbetween your legs seemed to be the big hit amongs all the contestants, and walking on two feet, but not all of the dogs had good balance. Here is one dog on two legs while the owner is spinning around in circles! After having a good laugh from these guys I set out to do some skiing with Christy. Fresh snow on the mountain was a good sign! We hiked up a small hill and found heaven! Fresh snow and not many skitracks! Need to put this up, because Ive bought myself new skies! Theire called huge, and they really are! Really fun to ski on, but I got supertired very quickly! Christy had to do some waiting while my thighs were burning! View from the bottom after skiing the Blackcomb Glasier! =) Couldnt have wished for a better day!
